A summer spirit transposed into urban form — where colour and archive codes shape an ephemeral stage

Urban Riviera: A Seasonal Stage In The Heart Of London

Perched atop Selfridges in London, the Dior resort pop-up manifests the spirit of the Riviera within a metropolitan frame. Conceived through collaboration with Thirtyone design + management, this ephemeral architecture brings a sense of seasonal ease to the city. Cheerful tones of navy, lime green and raspberry reorient the department store’s panoramic terrace, defining a space that feels both jovial and considered. This juxtaposition of seaside palette and urban setting invites visitors to experience dior’s vision of summer within an unexpected context.

Material And Colour: A Palette Of Place And Memory

Materiality and colour become narrative devices here. The bold yet harmonious palette evokes a Riviera breeze while marking clear spatial identities. The design envisions a “beach house” landed on a rooftop — a conceptual gesture that bridges context and brand ethos. Within this setting, surfaces and tones reinforce a seasonal story, where the vibrancy of summer becomes tangible through thoughtful selection of materials and hues. In doing so, the space transcends mere backdrop to become a crafted narrative of place.

Experiential Sequence: Identity In Flux

More than a temporary retail venue, this pop-up operates as a moment of atmospheric transition. Its presence on Selfridges’ terrace encourages a dialogue between fashion, landscape and city rhythm. The architecture, while fleeting, harnesses colour and form to generate a memorable spatial encounter — one that aligns with dior’s seasonal collection and extends the brand’s narrative beyond conventional boutique space. In this interplay of form and context, the pop-up becomes both a destination and a punctuation in the city’s architectural rhythm.
