An ornamental landscape unfolding within a frame, where heritage patterns are translated into space and identity reveals itself through layers of material and memory.

Interpreting the Code

Set within the refined context of Harrods in London, the project interprets Etro’s visual language through a spatial system of signs and textures. The brand’s identity—rooted in textile culture and iconic paisley motifs—becomes architectural matter. Surfaces are treated as narrative devices, where pattern is no longer decorative but structural, shaping a space that communicates continuity between fashion and environment.

Material as Ornament

The interior is defined by a calibrated interplay of materials, where walnut wood, metal finishes, and crafted elements establish a tactile richness. Contrasts are subtle yet precise, allowing textures to emerge without excess. Artisanal components—such as woven surfaces and bespoke furnishings—reinforce a sense of depth and authenticity. In this balance between control and expressiveness, the space reflects the brand’s ability to merge tradition with contemporary clarity.

A Layered Experience

The project unfolds as a continuous spatial fabric, where display and circulation merge into a unified sequence. Each element contributes to an immersive environment in which perception shifts gradually, guided by rhythm, color, and light. Within this constructed landscape, identity is experienced as something layered and evolving—revealed through repetition, variation, and proximity, much like the patterns that define Etro’s enduring aesthetic.
