A coastal interlude in form and scent — where place, light and heritage converge in a crafted atmosphere

Contextual Poetics: A Riviera Reverie

Set against the luminous backdrop of Portofino’s famed Italian Riviera, the Dior Parfum installation at Hotel Splendido becomes a subtle architecture of experience, weaving fragrance into the rhythm of place. Here, in a locale long revered for its elegance and commanding views over azure waters, the project frames Dior’s olfactory narratives within a space that speaks of Mediterranean light and calm refinement. The setting pays homage to the Maison’s historic ties to the Riviera, translating seaside inspiration into spatial presence and sensory recall.

Material And Atmosphere: Textures In Dialogue

The design evokes a harmonious dialogue between natural materials and Dior’s storied aesthetic codes. Wood and rattan articulate bespoke furnishings and surfaces that echo the warmth of the Ligurian coast, while the iconic Toile de Jouy — first introduced on Avenue Montaigne — is reinterpreted across finishes, anchoring the environment in Maison heritage. Within this calm, crafted backdrop, perfumed objects and seasonal editions, such as Dioriviera and Gris Dior, unfold as narrative elements that articulate scent and space simultaneously.

Experiential Presence: Scent As Spatial Narrative

Here, atmosphere is shaped as much by light and texture as by the olfactory journey itself. Dedicated zones invite visitors to explore Dior’s full range of fragrances and beauty creations, alongside areas designed for repose and personalised discovery. The interplay of crafted detail, ambient illumination, and the natural charm of Portofino transforms the site into a refuge of sensorial reflection — a place where the Maison’s art of perfume becomes inseparable from the lived experience of its setting.
