An Edwardian landmark recast as a sequence of cultivated interiors
A City Within a Sanctuary
At the intersection of London’s storied past and its restless present, a venerable Edwardian building is reawakened as accommodation and encounter. Here architecture becomes a backdrop for social ritual — from the echoing porte-cochère to quiet corners filled with light and marble. This hotel reinterprets luxury not as spectacle, but as the calibration of material, history, and human passage within the city’s pulse.
Heritage Woven with Craft
The project engages with its Grade II heritage with measured restraint, honoring the original façades and grand staircase while introducing layers of tactile richness. Through design, the building’s deep shadows and luminous surfaces are re-balanced: bronze and marble converse with wood and mirror, and each threshold marks a transition from public street to a cultivated interior life. A refined sense of arrival replaces mere arrival.
Rooms as Quiet Interiors
Within, guest spaces echo a London residence rather than a transient stop. The careful selection of materials acknowledges both tradition and contemporaneity — textured woods, polished stones, and curated collections of art and objects underscore a lived-in quality. Everywhere, thoughtful detailing underscores a belief that true comfort arises not from opulence alone, but from a cohesion of narrative, craft, and spatial poise.
