A site-specific installation that brings the molecules of happiness to life through yarns representing the chemical bonds that shape our well-being.

The Architecture of Well-Being

Here, intelligence and emotion intertwine like invisible threads, weaving a subtle yet powerful narrative. Created in collaboration with Vimar1991, this site-specific installation brings the molecules of happiness – Serotonin and Norepinephrine – to life through yarns that represent the chemical bonds governing our well-being. These delicate, precious threads climb through the space like the roots of an emotional intelligence that branches out and grows, reminding us how deeply every gesture and every thought is connected to our most fundamental biology.

The Chemistry of Happiness

Serotonin and Norepinephrine are two neurotransmitters released by the central and peripheral nervous systems to regulate many of the body’s essential functions. Serotonin, often referred to as the “happiness hormone,” plays a key role in regulating mood, sleep, appetite, sexual activity, empathy and numerous other cognitive processes. Norepinephrine, also known as noradrenaline, is responsible for activating many of the systems that govern the body’s responses and functions.

Artificial Intelligence and Emotions

In an unexpected dialogue, artificial intelligence – through the contribution of Hyntelo – becomes an interpreter of human emotions. A sentiment analysis of the Beatles’ Across the Universe is transformed into a visual artwork: a graph woven onto a large textile panel, translating sound and emotion into a language of shapes and colours. Immersed in a suggestive, multisensory atmosphere, visitors are invited to reflect on the relationship between mind and heart, reason and emotion. Every element seems to breathe in harmony with the space, creating an immersive experience where the ancient and the contemporary merge into a single, profound exploration of happiness.
