Welcome to our creative studio

THiRTYONE Design + Management operates across interior, exhibition, hospitality and experience design with an approach that focuses on listening and narrative construction. The genius loci becomes the key to interpretation and details become defining elements. Over ten years of activity, the team has developed tailor-made lifestyle brand projects for brands such as Dior, Bulgari, Loro Piana, Etro, Belmond, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and Uniqlo. The experiential dimension is not an additional layer, but an integral part of the design structure. This philosophy has led the studio to develop projects worldwide, building a truly international presence over time and engaging with profoundly diverse cultural, aesthetic and design contexts.

Claudia Campone’s research in Thirtyone explores hybrid territories between design, neuroscience and contemporary living: POSThome reflects on new domestic paradigms; Neurophilia investigates the boundary between the brain, technology and textiles; Identity Multipliers explores the theme of the self in the digital age. Projects that don’t simply occupy a space, but raise questions. A journey that also extends to the public sphere, leading the studio to share its work and research through talks, conferences and opportunities for discussion, engaging with diverse audiences.

SHAPING IDEAS

Let's meet our creative team

Claudia Campone
Founder & Director

Claudia Campone traveled through Rome, Nantes, and Shanghai before founding Thirtyone Design + Management in Rome. An international journey that became a method: strategic vision, cultural sensitivity, and attention to the human dimension of design.

Raised in a small town in the province of Cosenza, she recognized the Mediterranean as her primary design geography: a landscape of light and stratification, where space is always related and measured, a cultural orientation that remains hidden even when her career path took her internationally.

After studying at La Sapienza University and a Master’s in Design, Art and Visual Communication, her experience at the École de Design Nantes Atlantique consolidated her experimental approach; her time in Shanghai exposed her to the scale and speed of Asian retail. Joining the LVMH group – where she oversaw store design for Fendi for eight years – honed her ability to integrate creative language and process control.

In 2015, she founded Thirtyone Design + Management in Rome. The name, inspired by the expression “thirty done, let’s make thirtyone” declares a drive to transcend the obvious solution: adding meaning, not just form. The method is based on hand drawing as a thinking tool – thinking by sketching – a practice that runs through the studio’s manifesto and restores both a critical and intuitive dimension to the process.

In addition to her professional practice, she teaches at CREA École, Iowa State University, NABA, IED, La Sapienza and RUFA, maintaining an ongoing dialogue between design and education. Design, in her view, is a relational practice: a cultural expression capable of generating awareness and building connections between disciplines, people and places.

Sustainability for us

For us, sustainability is a balance.
Not only environmental, but also human, relational, daily.

In our design work, we pay great attention to the impact we generate: we choose responsible materials, we evaluate the durability of solutions, we work with suppliers who share our values. We think of each space as part of a cycle: it must be useful today, but also sensible tomorrow.

But sustainability is also the way we work together. We believe in a healthy, open work environment that respects people’s time. A place where creativity comes from collaboration, not pressure. Where we listen to each other, laugh, learn. Where we can say “I don’t know” without fear and find the answers together.

We design sustainable spaces because we live and cultivate sustainable work.
And this coherence, we believe, is seen in the results.
