Architecture in motion, shaping identity through ascent
Vertical Dialogue: The Stair As Conduit
In the heart of a comprehensive refurbishment led by Coolproject and architect Jacopo Rizzi, the ald rome project reveals its essence in the existing nine-level spiral staircase. Rather than conceal the monumental black helix that binds the building’s floors, our intervention embraced it as the principal protagonist—a sculptural axis that speaks of ascent, descent and the lived rhythms of everyday passage through space.
Embodied Movement: Crafting An Experience
Movement became the generative concept from the earliest explorations: how might architecture not merely contain motion but give it form? Through collaboration with Tecnostyle’s scenography masters, the staircase transforms into a dynamic conduit, where kinetic expression celebrates connectivity. The dramatic black spiral is both functional link and expressive form, its presence anchored through gesture, materiality and the choreography of human interaction.
Playful Narrative: The Ald Identity Realized
In a gesture of narrative audacity, the design introduces an element of delight and brand resonance: a track winding its way along the staircase, populated with moving cars shaped as the Ald mascot. This fusion of industrial play and architectural logic animates the vertical spine, reinforcing ald automotive’s identity while inviting visitors to rethink the very idea of circulation as an experiential and memorable journey through built space.
